Paper Critique (Mehr)
This essay on DeBeers Diamond Company and the movie Blood Diamond was very well put together and thought out. All the information is pertinent to the argument and there are a great deal of good sources used. There are a lot of good facts about the company and I thought that the paper flowed very well. There was a lot of background information and history of the company and its ownership. The essay is interesting to read and is good to think about especially if you have seen the movie.
The essay is very good but some small details could be improved on. The mention of the film is not talked about until later in the paper making the point of the paper more difficult to attain. There is also not that much written on the American west in particular, although I understand that the company wants to find a solution to its problems there it should be incorporated more frequently in the paper.
I would give this paper a letter grade of an A because I can tell there was a lot of effort and thought put into his work
