Chapter 7

I am very interested in the concept of “Manifest Destiny” that is depicted in chapter 7 called “War and Destiny. I find the concepts leading up to the Mexican War to be fascinating and would like to further explore this mindset that possessed a large quantity of the

United States

at that time. It is also important not to forget about the military aspects of this time in history and the events that took place during the Mexican War. There are many different questions that could be asked that would make for a good research paper topic. One of which is; what were the political figures who believed in the concept of “Manifest Destiny” and how did they push to accomplish that goal. Also; who where those figures apposed to “Manifest Destiny” and what were their arguments against it. What battles took place in the Mexican War and what was the result of the war?
